Delhi Art Society presents Sculpt for Delhi III

Curated by Neeraj Gupta, the show is a prelude to the making of a master plan for public art for Delhi

Delhi Art Society is bringing forth an art show for public art in the capital, starting February 10 till February 17, 2020, at the Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre (IHC), New Delhi, under the allegiance of Neeraj Gupta, who has been spearheading a campaign for the capital city to serve public awareness for the arts and also bring artists under a canopy of service in which their works can be seen by the public and they would also have opportunities to widen their web of influence in the art market that is at the moment regressive and stagnating.

Antardwand by Bhola Kumar.

The exhibition – Sculpt for Delhi III – includes about 20 artists, who are seasoned sculptors as well as painters, who have been in the fray for many years. Artists like Neeraj Gupta, veteran Naresh Kapuriya, Anjali Khosa Kaul, Bhola Kumar, Shovin Bhattacharjee, Bipasha Sen Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, Somesh Goyal, Madhab Dass, Farhat Jamshed, Kalicharan Gupta, Kavita Nayyar, BK Singh, and Mukul Pawar, among others, will display their work.

Divided into contemporary installations and sculptures and paintings for frescos, the exhibition will seamlessly occupy IHC’s Central Vista and Visual Art Gallery, to become its own diverse ecosystem. An aristocratic IHC with natural trees and a dramatic natural skylight with sunlight systems, along with VAG, will behold installations and sculptures as well as magical, yet thoughtful free-standing pieces like Heaven and Earth.

Venue: Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi
Date: February 10 till February 17, 2020
