A quirky yet warm salon in Chennai
Designed by RSDA, the salon mimics the graceful texture of soft wavy hair into the design
Shifting from white minimalism, Vurve salon is an extravaganza of semi-industrial cues expressed through a tasteful material palette. The design by RSDA engraves rustic yet quirky curves onto the spatial volumes. Parametric design of the ceiling is inspired from the waves of hair strands. It is a major facet of the design and defines the design vocabulary, further accentuating the wooden hues of the envisioned semi-industrial material palette.
Elaborating the texture of ply used in the ceiling, the ply edges are exposed as inspired from Japanese architecture. Contributing to the functionality of the design, the ceiling continues till the floor crafting niches to hold the salon equipment and nestle planters.
The Vurve salon at Kilpauk, Chennai, sets an example with its brilliant design experimentation and incorporation of nuances of parametric art which entice the salon experience.
