Milburn Cherian presents her solo painting exhibition – Living Between the Times 2020
The exhibition is a suite of captivating images that seem to bridge many gaps through the gospel and talk about the unity of man and his ways.
Milburn Cherian presents her second solo exhibition in New Delhi titled Living between the Times 2020 showcasing 80 works which opens on 1st March at Visual Arts Gallery. “In an otherwise photographically real world, painting to me is an expression of my way of seeing things,” says Cherian.
Cherian creates images of Biblical relevance and rustic idylls— the images are beautiful, and reflect exquisite craftsmanship, that force us to change how we experience the perspectives we share in art. Each painting is like a lesson in art history conceived as sacred art, and the beautiful metaphor of the working spider takes on the appearance of a parable.
Cherian has held solo exhibitions in Mumbai Kolkata and in London and participated in group exhibitions all over India as well as New York, the US, Japan, UAE and Russia. In Mumbai her work was exhibited at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Cymroza, The Fine Art Gallery and Pradarshak Art Gallery. In London, it was at Mayfair. Her work has also travelled to Pakistan where she participated in the group exhibition Bridging Borders.
