Design Debate Jammu – A storm of design & discussions, in the winter capital

As we headed to the winter capital of the Jammu & Kashmir Territory – Jammu, for the 23rd edition of Architects & Interiors India’s Design Debate, we were fortunate, to partner with one of the most reputed brands of the architecture industry and have the most esteemed names as our panellists.

Design Debate brings together the experts of the industry engaging in an interesting panel discussion to share their views and thoughts revolving over art & culture. And this year’s theme was Aesthetics Vs Economics.

The event also witnesses the partnering brands presenting and displaying their line of products and hence it also becomes a platform for networking with the Architects.

The Jammu edition of Design Debate was commenced by Indrajeet Saoji- Group Publishing Director from ITP Media Group, delivering the opening speech followed by Mohit Hajela – Group Head Business Development, Jaquar Group, giving a warm welcome note.

The title partner of this edition, Jaquar, then play an interesting AV explaining about it new segment of lighting products.

The Key-note speaker for the event was, Sanjay Singh – Director of ARCOP Associates, who was felicitated by Mohit Hajela and Indrajeet Saoji for his significant contributions to the industry and for his impeccable presentation over creating modern-day contemporary designs with influences of the ancient aesthetics and the economics of the aesthetics in today’s time, respectively.

Our yet another esteemed partner – Decuninck that gave a captivating audio-visual presentation about its high-quality uPVC windows, doors and sliding systems.

The supremely – talented, moderator, Shelja Gupta – Founder & Principal Architect of Designing Earth by Studio Bhoomi, took the stage to begin the most awaited Doyens Panel discussion and provided an insightful presentation, posing a spectrum of questions in lines with the theme. The Doyens panel, consisted of Ajay Mengi – Managing Director & Founder, Ajay Mengi & Associates, Harinder Arora – Principal Architect, Planners Group, Sanjay Goel – Chief Architect, Designex Architects, and Dr. Vikas Bhola – Principal Architect, Dhaneshwar Dimensions. This dynamic group discussing about maintaining design innovations while still ensuring economic feasibility and cultural context having an influence on aesthetics choices and economics, was felicitated by Anmol Deogirkar – Assistant Manager Product Application from Jindal Panther and Mohit Hajela.

After the enriching discourse, Anmol Deogirkar from Jindal Panther, presented a compelling overview of the brand’s offerings – steel production and rebar.

The Next-Gen panel, moderated by the very witty and competent, Chhavi Vatsalya – Principal Architect, Vatsalya & Associates and featuring Hemani Badyal – Principal Architect, Aviral Design Studio, Jayaditya Kotwal – Principal Architect, Design-Aid Box, Manmeet Kaur Arora – Principal Architect, The Arch, and Vishal Kakria – Principal Architect, Line & Space, was an interesting session as the speakers shared some brilliant ideas over being vocal for local items to balance the aesthetics & economics. Darshan Subramanyam – National Head, Decuninck, Satyanarayan – Senior Sales Manager, DURO Ply and Maiyer Rahman – Zonal Head of North Zone CBLS, Jaquar Group felicitated this group of high-spirited & accomplished Architects.

Bringing together the city’s architects for a captivating tête-à-tête, Design Debate – Jammu Edition emerged as a resounding success.
