Dhruv Sarveshwar Lal, Principal Architect, Dhruv Sarveshwar Lal & Associates
I aspire to design spatial balances – ‘a fusion’of ethnic influences, vernacular sensibilities, traditional art & new age technology.”
Dhruv Sarveshwar Lal carries his stellar work with the belief that “Architecture is space’s translation into an experienceable entity interacting and harmonising with its user’s emotion.” He pursues this belief through a build-to-suit approach, a balanced yet contemporary play of material, judicious use of technology, and a design sense that retains a part of the old yet expands on the new, aiming always to reinvent, transform, and enliven every space into an environment that responds to its occupants like a living organism with innovative designs and details. A principal architect at Dhruv Sarveshwar Lal & Associates, in his formative years, he was exposed to projects of national repute, which drove him to form an ideology towards space synthesis.
Dhruv has also been involved in teaching and has served as Visiting Faculty for the foreign exchange studio with the University of Washington at the Chandigarh College of Architecture, Visiting Faculty for design at the Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, and Faculty for design at Chandigarh University.
Some of Dhruv’s significant projects include Bigwich, a restaurant in Chandigarh whose interiors envision a picnic by adding the dimensionality of a comic strip and furthers the brand’s ideology to provide affordable food in a quirky setting. The Hotel Anchorage project in Mohali, Punjab, meanwhile, portrays the client’s passion for seafaring. The Mountain Medley Residence is all about aesthetical luxury while reflecting a typical mountain home and infused with natural light.
