John Anthony, and Kamalahasan Ramaswamy, Founders & Principal Architects, Cuboid Architecture
Under the leadership of John Anthony and Kamalahasan, Cuboid has been dedicated to transforming lives and improving society through design. The firm’s design ideas hinge on the vision of the clients and the context of the site. Diversity has been their mainstay for the past two decades and they have worked on projects ranging from 1,000 to 1 million sqft, comprising simple shelters to complex developments.
John, a thorough professional, with more than 20 years of experience, can be credited for developing the Cuboid Group and placing it among the successful list of architecture and design companies. Perceptive and articulate, he has tremendous experience in space planning and healthcare projects. He is a member of the Council of Architecture, the Indian Institute of Architects, the Indian Institute of Interior Designers and the American Institute of Architects.
Meanwhile, Kamalahasan, a national awardee and Chevening scholar, busies himself in strategy planning, besides handling architecture and conservation projects. He is empanelled with the Government of Tamil Nadu for regenerating its historic temples. His forte is simple, geometric designs dwelling on context and environment.
Cuboid, which started as a small firm in 2003 out of a garage, is indeed a name to reckon with today, with offices in Chennai, Bengaluru, and the United States.
They have recently completed the horse stables and quarters of teaching, administration, and support staff for the Lawrence School in Lovedale, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, besides the Ikon Hotel and Kove Restaurant for Annapoorna Hotels in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
