Karan is an architect and a social entrepreneur. In the 33 years of practice, his firm has completed more than 800 projects and won over 75 awards. Embracing one’s culture and heritage and focusing on sustainable development are his prime focus. He chose the profession as an architect when he chose cardboard modelling as an elective while in Mayo College, Ajmer. Later, he graduated in Architecture from MSU Baroda and did his post-grad thesis on ‘Housing the urban poor in India’. He set up Karan Grover & Associates in 1985. Their first significant project was the Institute for Plasma Research, and they went on to bag more prestigious projects, like the Tribal Centre in Tejgarh, and the Uttarayan Art Centre in Jaspur. Karan is a great proponent of spreading the importance of tradition, working with climate and building people responsive environments. Today, Karan Grover and Associates stands tall as a multidisciplinary organisation with a stellar associate consulting team.
