- Lead Architect, 7th Hue Architecture Collective
Liliya is driven by a profound reverence for nature and a commitment to tropical design principles. Inspired by the works of legendary architect Geoffrey Bawa, Liliya and her team at 7th HUE specialise in creating architectural marvels that seamlessly blend human habitation with the natural world.
With a background in architecture from Bishop Jerome School of Architecture, Kollam, Liliya’s journey began as a junior architect at AXYZ Ventures, Ernakulam, before joining 7th Hue Architecture Collective as an associate architect. Under the guidance of Ar. Shyamraj Chandroth, she imbibed a distinct vocabulary that highlights an intimate experience of space, place and meaning.
At the heart of Liliya’s design philosophy lies the belief that nature is not something to be observed from a distance but an integral part of everyday life. Drawing from Kerala’s rich vernacular architecture, she advocates for co-living with nature, where buildings harmonise with their surroundings rather than dominate them.
In her practice, Liliya selects vernacular materials that retain their natural essence. Every design decision is guided by the dual principles of client needs and site characteristics, ensuring a symbiotic relationship between architecture and its environment.
Some of Liliya’s recently completed notable projects include Khayal in Mavelikkara and House of Matho in Paravoor, both in Kerala.
