Malik Architecture
Kamal Malik
Kamal Malik, the founder and principal architect of Malik Architecture, boasts a remarkable 40-year journey in the world of architectural design. His roots in the hills of North India and his education at the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in New Delhi laid the foundation for his architectural expertise.
The practice, rooted in Mumbai, has been a pioneer in shaping a contemporary architectural language for the Indian subcontinent. Kamal Malik’s architectural philosophy beautifully marries Ecology’ and ‘Spirit’ to create spaces that resonate with the region’s cultural and environmental context.
The essence of Malik Architecture lies in its continuous process of ‘Manthan,’ where the rich historical, cultural, and philosophical heritage of India is distilled into a modern design idiom. Sustainability is at the core of every project, and a guiding diagram ensures a delicate balance in their designs.
Two of Kamal’s recent projects are IF.BE which included transforming a 140-year-old Ambico Ice Factory in Mumbai into a dynamic space for art, exhibitions, events, and more, all surrounded by the charm of heritage structures and a majestic Banyan tree and Radisson in Lonavala that blends with the natural landscape, making the lush surroundings the focal point of the project.
Currently, Kamal Malik is leading two significant ongoing projects: Adhiraj Samyana in Navi Mumbai, an urban ecological habitat, and the Mankind HQ in New Delhi, reflecting the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
