Traditional Portuguese design meets contemporary craftsmanship

Wewood reimagines a classic furniture piece with the new Contador sideboard

A timeless piece inspired by traditional Portuguese furniture, a sideboard’s original purpose was to provide practical storage space for dining rooms and offices. As a tribute to the Portuguese counters, Contador is composed of drawers of different dimensions that makes it the perfect organiser for different uses and spaces. Crafted in solid wood as the pieces that inspired it, Contador is made to last a lifetime.

Wewood - Portuguese Joinery is a Portuguese brand founded in 2010, as a result of the research and development office of Móveis Carlos Alfredo, a company specialised in manufacturing and exporting solid wood furniture since 1964. The company’s heritage is grounded in more than five decades of production. The products are handmade or hand finished, staying away from the standardised large scale production. The company believes that everything they do is driven by an unwavering passion for creating a product of excellence.

Each piece is born from the inspiration and creativity of the most talented designers and architects turned into reality by the hands, wisdom, and experience of the craftspersons from their team. “We believe in elevating high-end joinery by producing superb solid furniture that promotes Portuguese culture and design and work exclusively with the world’s finest materials to assure quality and durability,” concludes the company.
