Stellar Works’ new extended collection is here
Stellar Works extends a selection of its celebrated collections by Space Copenhagen, Hallgeir Homstvedt and Tom Fereday
As part of its 2020 collection, Stellar Works unveiled extensions to existing collections by long-term collaborators Space Copenhagen, as well as Oslo-based Hallgeir Homstvedt and Australian designer Tom Fereday. The extensions to the three distinctive collections result from the design expertise of each of these talented international designers paired with Stellar Works’ unrivalled ability in craftsmanship. Each collection piece seeks to celebrate Stellar Works’ ethos for a refined international aesthetics with nuances of Asian culture.
Initially launched at Milan 2019 with an elegant bar stool, the Freja collection by Space Copenhagen has been extended with two low stools and a bench, whose soothing visual appeal celebrates the Scandinavian furniture-making traditions while conveying a Japanese way of expression.
When designing his first piece of the Arc collection in 2018, Homstvedt focused on offering a response to the modern work situation with a sofa that provided a cocooning shelter and reminded people of home. For 2020, Stellar Works asked the Norwegian designer to create a new addition to the Arc loveseat, which now features a lower back that has a gentle character to make the sofa perfect for both retail and the soft contract market. Equally, the sofa provides a cosy and welcoming feel perfect for the home.
Building on the success of the Crawford collection – launched last year in the iconic Galleria Manzoni in Milan in collaboration with luxury department store Lane Crawford – the new upholstered Crawford chair is a subtle yet highly refined addition to the range. While the 2019 Crawford dining chair focussed on the harmony between formed timber and steel, the Crawford Soft dining chair introduces smooth piped upholstery that elegantly counterbalances the industrial look of the steel frame support.
