Kolkata-based Ochre at Home (OAH) is known for their bespoke furniture showcasing radical and forward-looking designs that are rooted in tradition. For Diwali, they have unveiled arresting home setups that stand testimony to their eternal quest for offering something novel and unique.
While this year’s Diwali may be low-key because of the ongoing pandemic, Diwali home decoration does not have to be.

Gleaming with a golden glow from mood lighting, the dining area styled by Ochre at Home is an extravagant yet intimate formal dinner setting. It features a six-person dining table with a burl veneer tabletop and quilted back dining chairs. This luxurious dining table is styled with a unique table runner made with Rajnigandha flowers, exquisite silverware, an antique silver bird bath and vase with pink and white roses, silver candle stands and a silver pumpkin box. This dining setup also exhibits a sideboard with fluted wooden shutters, artwork by Bratin Khan, a Nandi statue in patina and muted gold, white marble accent pieces and a modern mirror with layered frames.

The festive mood continues in the living space, which showcases an Indian modern design aesthetic. The highlights of this area are the light grey velvet sofa with quilted cushions, a beautiful Pichwai painting and a large veneer, mirror and marble centre table. Ochre at Home enhances the luxury quotient of this living area with a stunning Baroque chandelier, lanterns in muted gold and a Kashmiri Kanni shawl used as a throw. The striking Murano table chandelier has been placed on the left end table. In the background, modern cabinets are visible showcasing interesting décor items and candles.

The living area also has an Art Deco console and mirror alongside a suede lounge chair and a coffee table. The space also features a Kashmiri silk carpet from the Garden of Paradise series and elegant lighting in the form of light fixtures, lanterns and candles. The setting is complete with a 18th century Shivling sculpture from South India, a coffee table book by artist Jayashree Burman and fresh flowers.

Ochre at Home styles a cozy foyer for Diwali with one-of-a-kind furniture and décor accents. This corner is dressed for the festive season with the brand’s unique lounge chair in white velvet with a Pashmina throw and a pedestal in hand-cut mirror work with an Abalone shell insert. A cluster of candles, a lantern and fresh lilies add to the festive charm. Furthermore, the foyer’s wall exhibits a framed ‘Tree of Life’ hand embroidered Pashmina showcasing an Indian vibe
