Emery Studio brings Folia, Saint Louis’ dazzling collection of crystal light fixtures and home accessories, to India

Bespoke lighting specialist Emery Studio brings to India an illustrious new collection – Folia by Saint Louis, Europe’s oldest and most revered crystal glass manufacturers

Folia, a celebration of the synthesis of the radiance of crystal and the strength of wood, was launched at the recently-concluded Salone del Mobile 2019 in Milan – the annual furniture trade fair that permits brands to showcase their innovations on a global platform.

Created by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, the collection of 25 pieces of lighting is a testimony to the traditional expertise of Saint Louis – resulting in tableware, bar ware, candlesticks, vases and lighting creations. Juxtaposing the cool brilliance of crystal with contemporary forms in warm wood, Folia pays homage to the Moselle forest in France, where Saint Louis is based. The crystal cut was inspired by a specific leaf found in the forest. The wood in clear, dark or white solid ash with a matt varnish too, is sourced from the forests of France.

The pieces are crafted by combining lines and curves with great attention to detail. The finishes in brushed brass or chrome emphasise the structure of the lamps. Folia Frosted mirrors the encounter between crystal and wood initiated by the collection. The geometric cut of each key piece is adorned by a frosted, satin finish. The essence of the Folia collection is captured by the satin-finished pure shapes and richly-decorated crystals with deep bevel cuts.

Saint Louis' Folia collection includes crystal tableware, bar ware, decorative pieces and lighting fixtures

For the first time, Saint Louis has developed a modular system offering an abundance of options. With Folia Modular, each unit can be used as a pendant light, sconce or ceiling light thanks to two suspension systems - offset with cables or installed directly on the surface of the wall. For each unit, a choice of several configurations and orientations is available. At its core, Folia is a timeless contemporary collection that evokes the call of light and nature.
