The colour of the year is Curiosity, while Silver Night is chosen as the wallpaper of the year
Bringing together the best of design and research principles, the 17th edition of Asian Paints ColourNext unveiled its colour trends for 2020, along with the colour of the year – Curiosity, and wallpaper of the year – Silver Night.
Asian Paints has been studying colour and its myriad influences on lifestyle in India since 2003. Collaborating with the finest experts from a wide range of disciplines – architecture, interiors, fashion, sociology, advertising, F&B and media – Asian Paints ColourNext puts together a comprehensive forecast of colours, materials, textures and finishes for those who design for India.
Every year, ColourNext identifies one colour that captures the essence of the time as colour of the year. This year’s colour of the year is a modern, clear shade of blue, brimming with energy and inspired by azurite, the copper mineral ore.
The wallpaper of the year, presented by Nilaya, is an interpretation of the colour of the year in print, technique and material. This year, Nilaya collaborated with Nicobar to present Silver Night, the wallpaper of the year – a special design celebrating the spirit of the moon and its myriad influences on our life. Part of the limited edition Luna collection, it is a tribute to the connection between man and the moon.
The four colour trends for the year 2020 are Potent, Mystique, Blend and Sonic.
