Havwoods unveils its Pre-assembled Chevron from Design by Havwoods India
With an oiled finish, they are available in four fashion-forward shades and are ideal for both commercial and residential applications
Design from Havwoods encompasses a collection that includes engineered as well as solid wood planks, alongside a select range of genuine reclaimed wood. Intricately patterned wood floors are now very much on trend, and Design collates all the Havwoods' blocks which are perfect for the job. This collection consists of wood floor patterns such as Herringbone, Chevron and Versailles. Each distinctive design is presented with a breath of beautiful wood tones and quality finishes.
Herringbone is a pattern made up of equal-size, rectangular pieces, arranged in a staggered zig-zag pattern. The distinct characteristic of herringbone is that one rectangle is cut precisely so that the end of one plank or tile meets to the side of the other. This technique creates a beautiful, ‘broken’ zig-zag design that makes for ultra-elegant flooring, masonry and tiling for the home.
The Versailles pattern includes pre-finished panels, pre-assembled panels for easy installation. Other patterns like the Mansion Weave, Diamond and Stretched Hexagon engineered blocks take intricate surface design to another level – think of them as fine art for your floors. All three designs are available in natural, white or grey UV oiled finishes, allowing one to mix shades to create one’s very own, totally unique designs.
Chevron is an inverted V pattern, with each side meeting at the point without interruption. The results are a seamless zig-zag pattern. The individual planks of flooring are much shorter and usually narrower than usual planks. The ends have been cut at a 45-degree angle so that the chevron pattern can be created, where the planks come together into a point. With the Chevron pattern, individual blocks are available using both reclaimed and new timber.
Wood planks with these patterns are mostly installed by gluing to a wood or concrete sub floor. One has to make sure that every plank end is cut at a 45-degree angle to create a point that eventually creates the ‘V’. Due to the detailed need to insure proper and constant alignment at all times, this process can be very time consuming, especially when choosing the chevron pattern, where a plank-by-plank installation can also be very expensive, since every plank is installed separately.
Because of this constraint, Havwoods has launched the new collection – Pre-assembled Chevron from Design by Havwoods India, which addresses this problem. Borrowed from their ready-made Versailles pattern, they now present pre-assembled, pre-finished Chevrons in a plank. With an oiled finish, they are available in four fashion-forward shades and are ideal for both commercial and residential applications. Of course, they are extremely quick and easy to fit.
