Bringing out the best
The best part of this project is that the clients are old friends of the designers. They are a close-knit family with traditional values and a modern progressive outlook. This project is hence so special to the design team and pushed them to create a beautiful home. The team worked on a modern, contemporary, and an easy to maintain home.
Simplicity is the key
Simplicity was the approach the team took, by bringing in plushness in the materials and textures used. An uncluttered and openly flowing layout enlarges the original space and makes it appear visually more appealing. Clean lines with the team’s trademark custom designed unique design factor bring in the magic.
Loving the light
Bhavya, from the design team, loves to play with light (natural as well as artificial) and colours, which when intelligently used create an unforgettable dramatic aura. A welcoming entry lobby introduces the home to the visitors. A specially curated mirrored wall panel dramatically enlarges the space, adding reflectivity and an easy sophisticated glamour to this space. The triple floating arches partition customised in metal and fluted glass creates a peekaboo into the living space beyond. This well-lit foyer with its remaining parallel walls are clad in textured wallpaper with brass line inserts hereby creating a wow statement.
Curating multi user friendly spaces
The living space is laid out cleverly to create multi user-friendly seating spaces and cosy niched in areas which effortlessly flow into one another, as per their specific activity. The walls have been knocked down to create a large free flowing living space which opens up to a long running balcony offering a stunning city view. A carefully curated niched in king-size Hamilton longback wing chair dressed in sumptuous tropical prints with a beautiful backdrop of tropical printed porcelain plates arrayed behind. There is also an eyecatcher statement piece and makes one want to sink in with a cup of coffee on peaceful sunset evenings.
Sparkling in their own glory
A Marbled 6-seater dining table and chairs at one end near the kitchen is highlighted by beautiful floral wallpaper background and a custom designed marble top leather clad dining console. The long sweeping white marbled backlit TV unit is the pride of the living space. Intelligently laid out lighting in form of tracks lights, wall and centrally focused spots, Belgium crystal chandeliers over the living lounge and dining table along with recessed LED cove lighting add so much glamour and makes the space shine and sparkle in their own glory. The colour palette of cool and sensuous lavenders, lilac, & turquoise are quietly balanced out with neutral dove greys and creamy whites.
Unwinding in neutral ambience
Statement accessories reflect a quiet classy drama highlighted by the light bobbing on from the dancing spheres of the pedestal lamp near the sofa end. One can imagine unwinding away on the plush ambience created. The touch of vivid turquoise in the form of a voluptuous curvy vase with the ” lucky bamboo” in it is a delight to behold. The parallel platform kitchen layout with the essentials laid out makes for a homemaker & cooks dream. The custom designed modular cabinets and long ladder fit into their utility spaces nicely. Neutral greys on the deco glass clad cabinet shutters balanced out with the woody tones on the bottom storage units along with the sparkly grey quartz wall dado completes the kitchen.
Oriental vibes with brass linearity
The master bedroom is vibrant with small personal oriental touches blended in seamlessly. The flying flamingos custom designed wallpaper is such a royal splendour. Tall linear brass inserts on the velvet cushioned bed back add a touch of bold luxury to the royal blue upholstery. The tall floor to ceiling wardrobe shutters with mirror strips adds a larger-than-life verticality to this wall. the mirrored dressing unit is smartly niched in.
Highlighting the lotus pods
The highlight wall has a ” Carolina Blue” lacquered console holding a selection of collectibles and a divine Buddha takes centre space with an India circus table lamp adding warmth and serene light. Ceramic golden Lotus pods are an eye-catching wall decor. The lounge was decided to be converted into the smallest room into a family room.
Swinging by the blues
The room houses a lavish bar which opens up through long black and gold art deco motifed glass sliding shutters adding so much oomph and glamour to this tiny entertaining space. Bhavya calls it the Blue Room and is a personal favourite. Here every wall except the one behind the champagne metallic leather clad sofa is purposely saturated in blue, to create a sultry atmosphere. The quirky centrepiece chandelier adds flamboyance.
Classic comfort for the kid
The daughter’s room is spacious & classic comfort being the prime criteria. The bed backdrop is playfully geometric. Chevron prints fused with cool blues & fresh peaches and cream sooth the eye and add a youthful charm. The study table & well-lit dressing is a teenager’s delight. The connected compact bath space is enhanced and enlarged with sultry bronze & reflective mirrors.
The special tropical prints wallpaper tiles highlight mural wall is a beauty. Perky orange and earthy teals & all the colours in between make for a gorgeous bath space to freshen up in.
Sombre grooves for the oldies
The Grandparents room is sombre & monochromatic. Mirror back bed storages are flushed into the walls with the help of light oak veneered panels adding grace to this simply done up space.
A lovely India circus printed quilt along with the coconut grooves India circus wall paper adds a laid-back charm & contemporary Indianness. A handcrafted teakwood rocking chair completes the picture.
All in all, this home is ” a celebration of spaces”, carefully laid out and lovingly curated.
