Outdoor area of Kempense Golf Club in Mol, Belgium renovated by KE Outdoor Design
KE’s new Gennius Isola pergola range frames the restaurant at Kempense Golf Club
The Kempense Golf Club that extends across 47 hectares in the Belgian hamlet of Mol, is a golfer’s paradise. Amongst the most renowned in Belgium, the Club boasts an 18-hole course surrounded by dense vegetation, with mixed routes, practice areas, golf shops and a charming brasserie.
The clients wished to renovate the outdoor area of the eatery so that it could be utilised fully in any season. The design brief was to create a covered area that would extend the seating of the venue and that was both elegant and functional, in keeping with the authentic architectural style of the brasserie.
KE Boflex selected the Gennius Isola 2 pergola, composed of 3 modules side by side, in black inver colour with roofs in white Ferrari darkening fabric. Isola 2 stands out for its minimal lines and low-arched roof that guarantees minimum overall dimensions. After the installation of the three Isola 2 pergolas, the brasserie’s accommodation capacity increased by approximately 80 seats. The Gennius Vertika system of side rollers permits the awning to be retractable, making the spatial quality of the brasserie flexible, as per requirement.
An LED strip has been added along the entire internal perimeter of the structures creating the right evening atmosphere - perfect for golfing aficionados who want to relax after a day on the green.
KE’a Gennius Isola 2 - pergola awning, supported by an aluminium structure is available in two options - wall-mounted or free-standing. Described by architects as ‘deceptively sleek’, this range of patio awnings is distinguished by a stylish and flexible design. It combines the beauty of a pergola, the flexibility of a retractable awning and the warmth and comfort of an extension to a room.
