Design Cafe launches third experience studio, first one in Mumbai

Co-founded by architects and designers Gita Ramanan and Shezaan Bhojani, Design Cafe’s first experience studio in Mumbai offers a choice of materials, finishes, designs and styles

Design Cafe, an award-winning home interiors company announced the launch of its first experiential studio at R City Mall, Ghatkopar in Mumbai, earlier this month. Spread over 15,000sq-ft, the store offers a wide choice of cutting-edge materials, finishes, designs and styles to help one put their personal touch to the whole home design experience. Design Café’s colossal experience centre boasts of 13 kitchen displays, 7 living spaces, 2 large living-dining spaces in addition to a 1-bedroom-hall-kitchen show flat.

This is Design Café's third studio after the last one was launched in Bengaluru in September last year. The company is a full service home interiors firm, led by architects and focused on providing designer homes personalised to the client’s ideas and requirements at competitive prices.

Using virtual reality, Design Café gives its customers a complete 360-degree experience of what their dream home will ultimately look like before they go ahead and sign off. Having designed and built almost 5,000 homes across the country, Design Café aims to bring premium design and quality to the average home buyer, at any budget.

Mumbai is the largest market for home interiors in India today. A 2BHK apartment in cities like Bengaluru and Delhi can be as much as 1200sq-ft, whereas in Mumbai it would be approximately 600sq-ft, thus making it a unique and challenging market for any player in this space. However, Design Cafe is known for its innovative space maximisation solutions and multi-functional designs; and it claim to tackle this very issue and provide up to 20% extra space per square foot in all their projects. To fulfill the projects for their customers in Mumbai, Design Cafe has tied up with several partner factories and will be setting up their own by January 2020.

Gita Ramanan, co-founder of Design Cafe said “With the opening of this Design Café experience center in Mumbai, we are committed to identify and understand the specific details of our customers across segments and provide them with personalised home interiors design experience like never before. Mumbai is our first city after being successful in home-ground Bengaluru and, hence, very critical as we continue to scale further. Within the experience centre, one will find several elements in line with the latest trends, that they will need to put their dream home together, and we will be right beside them through their journey.”

Design Café was founded in October 2015, by architects and designers Gita Ramanan and Shezaan Bhojani, who together bring more than two decades of national and international design experience to the table. With the vision of democratising Design, they are among the first in the business to vertically integrate with their own designers, workforce and a 1,20,000sq-ft factory in Bengaluru, manufacturing all their products. They are both innovators, driven to bring the power of design to millions of lives.
