Smoke House Deli Launches its first ever Goodness To Go outpost

South Mumbai’s upmarket residential neighbourhood of Kemps Corner is all set to welcome Smoke House Deli’s very first Goodness To Go outpost in the country. After a decade of serving up beautifully crafted food and experiences, everyone’s favourite European café has metamorphosed into an artfully imaginaive, wholesome and evolved version of itself.

Goodness to Go by Smoke House Deli is a place where patrons can step in to grab fresh and quick meals, healthy shakes and smoothies, salads and sandwiches, cold-pressed juices, and more. All of this inside the delightful literary sanctuary of Crossword Bookstore in Kemps Corner. Nestled between the Art and Design section and the Philosophy section, the outlet has found a nice nook to settle in, overlooking the main road and the main section of the bookstore below.

Inspired by the location at the bookstore, which is unique to Smoke House Deli, this little outlet is dressed in hand-painted illustrations on the walls, pillars and ceiling. These illustrations borrow from fantasy and surreal novels that exist in reader’s dreams. Characters seem to crossover into other stories with their own will: spot Rapunzel delivering a Smoke House Deli breadbasket down the tower with her braid, or  find The Little Prince on a brand-new planet, never explored before. Keeping up with Smoke House Deli 2.0 design language (as seen in the renewed outlet in High Street Phoenix), SHD Kemps Corner is also in tandem with Smoke House Deli’s more evolved, yet whimsical side.

As a Goodness to Go outlet, this Smoke House Deli serves healthy food made from organic and locally sourced ingredients. Keeping in line with Smoke House Deli’s effort to serve conscious food, the space too is peppered with pockets of freshness with bright green plants, natural light and happy vibes all around. 

The furniture is the same as the High Street Phoenix outlet, replicating the modern and abstract cane chairs and wooden tables. A special feature comes in the form of Salem, Smoke House Deli’s resident black cat who makes an appearance as a statue placed in cute little nooks. While Smoke House Deli 2.0 uses a fixed design language, the illustrations are unique and run wild in the inspiration they borrow from their immediate surroundings. The literary references are blended with Smoke House Deli’s offerings in a sublime way.
