A celebration of warm tones anchors this luxurious Mumbai apartment

Conceived by Pratik Ajmera of PJA Design and Build, this Mumbai abode is all about spotlighting warm tones, cozy comfort and balanced design, while an unmistakable undertone of luxury pervades the spaces.

A language of luxury

Christened The Mehta House, this apartment spread across 1800 sq ft is located in one of the upscale localities of Juhu. Having crafted this space by combining two existing apartments, the home is already expansive. But reflecting the context, a grand and luxurious appeal anchors the aesthetic. Borrowing qualities from modernism, minimalism, art deco and other global trends for a potpourri of design flourishes, the space showcases individualistic appeal.

Grounded in browns

Right from the entrance, warm wooden tones and luxurious tans envelope viewers, crafting a space doused in browns. A rhythm of lines, a plethora of textures and patterned upholstery juxtaposed against solid blocks all add a unique flair to the living room, where right from the lights to the furnishings, each feature conveys timelessness. An attached dining area oozes effortless glam appeal, anchored by statement lights. A change in the ceiling marks this visual demarcation while a single statement blue creates interest. Mirrored wall panels lend depth to the space, crafting an illusion of expansiveness.

A design steeped in details

From fluted glass to wooden partitions, a range of partitions separate spaces here, while still allowing a certain dimension of connection to percolate through the zones. Plush textures and singular accents take centerstage in the bedrooms, while sleek accents of gold concoct a layer of undeniable luxe appeal. Grooves, lines and patterns come together on most surfaces, value-adding to the design. In the master bedroom, a neutral palette dominates. In another, blue is in focus while in the second bedroom, a jewel-toned violet becomes the focal point.

With understated grace, this design by PJA Design and Build comes together for a home rooted in luxurious appeal and steeped in design detail.
