A cozy Mumbai weekend home that oozes serene bliss

Studio WideAngle creates this home in Mumbai to be a modern and eclectic powerhouse that serves all its punch in a plethora of colours. Perfect to unwind, the weekend home is a riot of textures and tones that is sure to captivate.

A sense of serenity

Set within a serene sea with a stunning pagoda view, this weekend home perfectly revels in the greens calmness around. The homeowners realised the importance of a home away from home after the 1st lockdown and gave the design team at Studio WideAngle a chance to build their party abode. The brief dictated a need for a space that flows into each other in a soft and easy manner, with fun and quirky elements. Brought to life by breaking down walls, the design breathes new life into the space.

Patterned plays

More than just walls and a roof, the design team believe that a perfect abode is all about making your house a home. A black door and hand-painted floral artwork leads to the living room with an open kitchen. Patterns take centerstage here, with a language of lines coming into sharp focus, set against a palette that is largely neutral and minimal. A breakfast-bar counter done up in raw wood with wooden fluted panels grabs attention, as accents of gold lend to the understated dimension of luxury. Black fabricated metal with a tropical backdrop adds a punch of colour and fun to this public space.

A cozy paradise

No weekend home is complete without a den room. Maintaining a visual connection with the common areas, the dividing wall was replaced with a clear glass, black grid sliding door. A wooden floor anchors the space, and an exposed brick wall painted in white adds rustic flair to the room. The low-height turquoise bed, perfect for friends and family to gather around and make memories, infuses the space with a layer of cozy comfort. In the master bedroom, grey tones with wall mouldings and a high headboard exudes elegance. Sandwiched between clear glass and beige veneer with dashes of cane, the wardrobe becomes a defining feature of the design here.

With an overall design that is modern and contemporary while flirting with colors, textures and patterns, this home by Studio WideAngle is a perfect reflection of the homeowners – with each furniture, book, knick-knack, pictures telling a story.
