They were appointed to do this very subtle and clean interior design for an extended apartment space. This was done by framing contrasting colours around zoning of spaces.
A quiet show
The living room has short pieces like the tufted couch, which gives an open floor plan a cosy feel, and rug defines the seating area within the space. TV wall panel offers a contrast to more subtle colour elsewhere, whereas the wine colour on the wall injects personality into the living space with energetic hues and quirky finds. The colour punch supplied by the mint green furniture units, adds interest and warmth to the room.
Some people like to have their antique collection on display in their homes while others like to be discreet about it. This client belongs to the latter group, a hidden bar cabinet is what they wanted. This bar cabinet does not look like any other storage unit and easily blends with the rest of the furniture in the room. Once opened, you’ll be greeted with a complete mini bar from inside.
Resting in rustic
The bedroom has moody grey texture walls, slim-light grey tone wallpaper behind the bed, and a plush upholstered blue leather headboard which adds a dramatic focal point, paired with a neat stack of pillows in shades of blue and grey that adds a tranquilizing vibe. These all elements define rusticity which was desired by the client.
All fun-ctional and games
In the guest room we have split up the room into zones so it can accommodate different types of activities. In this ostentatious guest room cum card room, a murphy bed is a great way to save floor space, but it’s also a pretty good investment furniture-wise. Murphy bed that folds out when the homeowners have guests, and folds up the rest of the time to turn the space into a multifunctional room (for game room, chill out room, etc.) There’s a bistro table for card and board games next to the secretive console unit which adds to the functionality of this multipurpose room. The backdrop in the form of bold wallpaper has been added to the room to give the feel of casino.
As homes are embodiments of aspirations: hopes of a fulfilling today and a brighter tomorrow, when it comes to crafting abodes, the designer strived towards narratives that are unique and tailored to the occupant’s lifestyles in this home.
