Decoding the brief

The client’s brief emphasized a desire for vibrant yet refined interiors. A design that exuded a sense of effortless sophistication while remaining practical and easy to maintain was an absolute goal. Smart storage solutions were a priority to minimize clutter and enhance functionality throughout the space. Contemporary Eclectic – blending vibrant colours and modern elements with elegant and timeless pieces to create a cohesive and visually striking interior space.

The inspirations and key concepts for the development were drawn from various sources, including the client’s preferences, architectural elements of the space, and contemporary design trends. A colourful yet elegant space served as a guiding principle throughout the design process. Inspiration from nature, art and culture infused the interiors with character and personality.

Planning the layout

The spatial layout was strategically arranged to maximize functionality, flow, and aesthetic appeal. Upon entry, the living and dining areas welcome one, with the kitchen conveniently situated to the right and the bedrooms to the left. The first bedroom was repurposed into a home office, offering a dedicated workspace away from the main living areas. The second bedroom was designated as the guest bedroom, located conveniently on the right side of the home. Two master bedrooms were introduced in the design.

This configuration was meticulously planned through a thorough analysis of available space and client preferences. The primary objective was to create distinct zones within the home while ensuring an open and connected atmosphere. By carefully considering each room’s placement and function, the layout seamlessly integrated functionality, flow, and aesthetics, resulting in a cohesive and harmonious living environment.

The construction techniques employed in this project encompassed a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern methodologies to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality. The advanced utilisation of carpentry techniques to create bespoke furniture pieces and intricate mouldings that added character to the space. Additionally, metal and wood were the primary materials used to construct structural elements and custom fixtures, lending durability and visual appeal to the design. Glass was strategically incorporated to enhance natural light flow and create a sense of openness, while cane accents added texture and warmth to the interiors. Each material was thoughtfully selected to harmonize with the overall design concept and contribute to the timeless elegance of the space. Neutrals formed the foundation of the colour scheme, providing a versatile backdrop for layering pops of colour and intricate prints.

The private retreat

In the master bedroom, neutrals were complemented by vibrant pops and intricate prints, adding depth and visual interest to the space. Conversely, darker tones were introduced in the second master bedroom to evoke a sense of sophistication and intimacy.

In the guest bedroom, a combination of beiges with Sabyasachi prints along with jute accents created a warm and inviting atmosphere, while maintaining a timeless elegance. The study featured a blend of beiges, ikats, and black accents, lending a contemporary yet refined look. Lastly, in the living and dining areas, neutral beiges were paired with blush tones, greens, and a pop of blue to create a serene and welcoming ambience. Each colour palette was thoughtfully chosen to reflect the unique personality and style of each space while ensuring a cohesive and harmonious design narrative throughout the entire project.
