Go easy on the eyes with the minimal mantra of this Bangalore office

Designed by Brijila Kishore of Designerz Palette, this minimal style office is influenced by the natural tones and the splash of colors that represent the company’s brand and ethos.

As you enter the lobby of the office you are welcomed by a pop of colors from their logo, which are highlighted by the simple and elegant textured backdrop.

Balancing boundaries

As they say, the design of an office entrance area plays a crucial role in setting the tone for the entire space. It helps make a positive first impression on visitors and employees alike. The backdrop of natural wood texture enclosing the natural greens from the vertical planters along with the soft curve of the ceiling blending with the lights define the area. The symmetrical pattern differentiating the reception area from the rest of the space acts as a clear demarcation of the purpose of the different spaces while tying together the whole area in harmony with each other.

The natural textured tile leads to the workspace, where carpet reflecting the color of their logo helps in differentiating the different spaces. Following the theme of minimalism, the separation of workspaces is highlighted by planters, which double up as storage areas for the employees. A simple seating area breaks the monotony of the space while creating a communal space for the employees to interact.

A spread of 122 workstations with different combinations of seating arrangements with few informal seating spaces and phone booths are designed around the area. This allows the employees to choose the options as per their requirement i.e., interact or be isolated. The lighting in different tones helps in differentiating the areas. For instance, a warm white tone for passages and walkways and a warm natural tone for workstations (the warm natural tone helps with focus and concentration.)

Symphony between spaces

The Baffle ceiling along the walkway helps in incorporating the natural theme that flows through the space and also helps mirror the natural feel of the tiles. This highlighting helps in gravitating the attention of the viewers towards its expanse length and also creates a sense of direction. The vinyl stickering of the logo and the colors in linear gradation on the glass partition unifies the whole space by creating a symphony between the different textures and lines.

A small phone booth nook leads the way to a set of workstations, a swing lounge, and a cafeteria. Along this nook, there is the conference area and GM Cabin, which was designed to ensure privacy but at the same time, it is not completely isolated from the rest of the employees.

Continuing with the theme, the Baffle ceiling leads the space to the Conference room as well as the GM’s Cabin. This helps to highlight the space by setting it apart from the natural tones of wood and tile. Sunlight beaming through the window highlights the minimalist design of the GM Cabin that overlooks the swing lounge. In the GM’s cabin, a green tint of textured paint is given as a backdrop that is paired with carpet tile flooring. Playing along with the lights, strips of light on the conference wall give a dazzling effect to the space. And the customized rectangular metal frame pendant light adds character to the whole space.

Layered with minimalism

Exiting the rooms, yet again the Baffle ceiling helps in diverting the gaze towards the cafeteria, the second set of workstation areas, and also the balcony.

With an open ceiling, the cafeteria welcomes all with its pureness and warmth. There is a variety of seating arrangements to choose from: the high chairs in contrasting color help in accentuating the space, and the seating with tiered rows invites people to sit comfortably and lounge while watching on the projector screen. Largely, a white minimal cafeteria adds up as a perfect backdrop when the projector screen drops down and brightens the place.

A simple theme of minimalism, layers of textures, and spots of colorsfused with lines, helps in creating a warm and cozy space for its employees. The material palette includes soft fabrics with variations in patterns of neutral and logo colors to highlight and merge with the surroundings accordingly. A warm oak shade of wood in laminates and membrane tops, the natural stone texture tile of beige grey acts as a neutral base for all other textures and materials to highlight against. A bold dark grey defines the spaces and columns and acts as highlighting elements. Neutral paint colors and a few color blocks inspired by the logo sets the design apart and unify the whole office space.
