Immerse into the tranquil charm of the Adyar River from this River View Residence

Roaish Architecture + Design invites the lush openness from the outside into this 17th floor Kotturpuram apartment through light and airy design features.

The River view residence, Kotturpuram, a 1767 sqft apartment surrounded by an affluent neighbourhood, is a tranquil oasis amidst the rush of the city. This is a vibrant residence with elements of surprise around every nook. Designed for a family of four, this home on the 17th floor reflects their different personalities with colours and carefully curated furniture pieces that bring life to the space.

Dip into serenity

Your entry is greeted by the calmness of the subtle foyer which consists of a frameless mirror paired with a sleek console and seatee on either side where the 3 Dimensional wallpaper acts as a background. A hue of blue sets the tranquil tone for the house. The vibrant living room with its green textured wall paint stands as the feature element. The vivid shades of seating and the adjoining dining room are separated by a refined ombre brass-finished partition. This capsule partition seamlessly divides the volume of the space distinctly between the living and dining while introducing a sense of minimalism.

The vanity adjacent to the dining with pattern tiles on the backsplash, paired with the green wall exudes an inherent sense of liveliness to the space. With the ringing of bells resonating throughout the house and fluted shutters giving a swivel to the clean and elegant interiors within, the puja unit was designed with the intention of being a subtle yet defined head turner.

The Master bedroom filled with pastel hues is the perfect place for rest. The details in the wall panelling and wardrobes add a quaint charm to this room. The grooves in the cement textured wall panelling, along with the lilac wall conjure up an elegant charm in the master bedroom. This bedroom features a vibrant coloured wall with an abundance of light flowing in, creating a space reflecting the client’s personality. The wardrobe designed to perfection has wooden beadings running across introducing a trace of asymmetricity to the space while sustaining its purpose.

Greys, greens, and grains come together seamlessly in this room. The accent of mauve brings a pop of liveliness to the space. The design of the storage complements the feature wall panel following a geometric detail that brings an aesthetic visual balance.

Inside out

Seemingly disparate, the home study ties into the larger theme of ease and quirkiness of the space. The semi open storage unit has colourful pop of shutters and was customised to the client’s needs to arrange books, etc. The hidden handles are what make this unit seamless. The balcony offers a beautiful view of the Adyar River filling the scene with peace and tranquillity. The A-frame in the balcony flaunts the various greens at distinct levels of the space.
