Root yourself in the lush landscape that soothes this 1,400 sq ft office in the Garden City of India

A.J Architects conceptualized the Zen Office to have large openings, blurring the boundaries between built and natural environment.

Bangalore, known as “GARDEN CITY” – Enjoying the lush greens of the garden city from the third floor of a building is a boon. When we first visited the site under construction, we were awestruck by the huge trees all round in the vicinity.

In the lap of landscape

The design team layered simple interior to blend with the landscape to foster a sense of openness belonging and working with comfort as well as being in the laps of mother nature. This philosophy of working amidst nature promotes a healthier productive soothing and calming effect.

The zoning of entire office is such planned that the public spaces are placed more towards the bigger glazing to allow maximum light to filter in and have aesthetic view.

Entering the reception area the sloped rafters and angled POP ceiling camouflage the beam which also adds visual dynamism to the space complementing the outdoor landscape. The ceiling pattern breaks the monotony of flat ceiling creating depth and interest of space in and around. The reception at the back is intentionally left at a lower height and not touching the ceiling to give a feel of expanse of space.

Calm and comfortable

Another key feature to add to expanse of space is that none of the partition walls extend to the ceiling. A “C” shaped glass panel has been incorporated for These glass panels serve a dual purpose: providing visual continuity and offering an expansive view for those working in the space.

As client is in Wealth Management services, he and the employees are boggling with numbers and sometimes work under pressure. The concept of retreat like ambience is carried forward to the workstation area with green coloured criss cross rafters complimented with green colour workstation base. The chief analyst is given a secluded space as he needs deep concentration for research work, he carries out. Despite being secluded he is still connected to the MD cabin and other colleagues. The barricade of landscapes secludes him and still keeps him connected to all.

Zen efficiency

The lounge area further adds to the retreat feel of the office inmates and provides a cozy atmosphere for client discussion. The MD cabin and conference room are left with minimalistic functional interiors.

This commercial office space is designed to boost productivity, well-being, and connect people with nature. The design offers a serene environment by blending natural elements, modern materials, and practical layouts, the office creates a space that is both professional and comfortable. The design improves the daily work experience and shows the company’s focus on a positive and inspiring environment. This office demonstrates how good design can make workspaces both functional and beautiful, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.
