The site is located at Pannicode, Mukkam, Kerala. The structure is oriented on the site in such a way that there is ample amount of natural daylight flowing within the interiors.
Taking a contemporary route
The design emphasizes simplicity, clean lines, and natural materials, staying true to the Scandinavian ethos while incorporating contemporary accents and luxurious touches. The overall theme is a sophisticated fusion of modern and Scandinavian elements with a pinch of bohemian and chic vibes, which together create an environment that is both sleek and cozy.
The design team began with the belief that integrating locally produced art not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the spaces but also supports the vibrant arts community within the region. By collaborating with local artists, carpenders, industrial welders the design aim was to bring fresh, diverse, and authentic elements into the designs, making each project a true reflection of its community.
Easy on the eyes
This project is designed in an open layout which enhances the feel of spaciousness. Colors play a crucial element in these interiors, adhering to the Scandinavian preference for light, neutral colours while introducing modern pops of colour for added vibrancy. The decor is minimalist yet impactful, reflecting the Nordic principle of functionality combined with aesthetic pleasure. The design maximizes space quality through careful planning and strategic layout.
Depth in the details
The main focal point of the interiors are the tall, floor-to-ceiling windows, which are adorned with sheer curtains that allow natural light to flood the space while maintaining a level of privacy. The windows are flanked by long, beige drapes that add a touch of sophistication.
The flooring is made of polished statuario marble, featuring subtle veining that adds texture and interest to the space. The spaces are furnished with a mix of Nordic and rustic elements. The vibrant colours of furniture upholstery provides a bold contrast against the neutral tones of the room, complemented by some statement pieces of ash wood , enhancing the cozy atmosphere.
The staircase, which leads to an upper level, is designed with Mahogany wooden steps and a balustrade that combines wooden posts with sleek, black metal rails. Decorative elements, such as abstract sculptures and carefully crafted wall arts add a touch of artistry and personality to the space.
The ceiling features recessed lighting and use of modern chandeliers contributing to the room’s contemporary feel. The repetitive use of mirrors as an art enhances the spaciousness of the rooms.
